Save money now for next Christmas

Posted by Admin on January - 13 - 2012 0 Comment

The holiday period might not be the most conducive time of year to save cash, but there are still plenty of great ways to limit your expenditure – as well as things you can start in the New Year that will mean you should easily be able to fund next Christmas. For instance, you could consider an interest free credit card to lighten the load of repayments or make small savings throughout the year to make a big difference to the next holiday season…

Save as you go

Setting up a savings plan in the New Year is one way you could consider saving up for next Christmas. This doesn’t even need to be anything major: it could be an extra few pounds here and there into your savings account, or even a jar that you can store small change in. It all adds up over the course of a year.

Give something back

Of course, Christmas is all about giving so you could think of ways your savings could help others. One example of this is the charity credit card. Millions of us use cards with credit, and a charity card gives you cash back on your purchases, which can then be donated to the charity of your choice. So, if you use your card regularly (and remember to pay off at least the minimum amount every month), you should have saved up quite a bit to donate to those in need by the time Christmas comes around.

Start your shopping early

Many of us moan at the sight of Christmas songs making themselves heard in shops as early as October, but starting your planning early could help you to spread the cost of the season. For instance, if you see something on offer that would make a great present for your wife/husband/child, don’t put it off – get it before the offer runs out.
